We have the most amusing conversations at work. And we all learn something new everyday!
I work for a highly educated group of Ph.D’s, M.D.’s, and some masters degree level individuals, yet some of our conversations would lead you to believe that we are all jobless free spirits who sit around a coffee shop with nothing better to do with our days than contemplate life’s oddities.
Today’s conversation went like this:
Vivi: “Oh my Little Bitty Pretty One (what she calls me. Awwww.), what a cute little dress! And you shaved your legs!?”
Moi: “Thanks, and yes, I figured it would be more socially acceptable than not doing so.”
Vivi: “You mean like this?” (Pulls right pant leg up)
Dr.: “Why are you two still in my office?”
(Vivi and moi look at each other shocked that Dr. does not find us entertaining)
Dr. “When did American women start shaving their legs? What year?”
Vivi: (the oldest in the room) “During my whole lifetime.”
Dr. “Then it has been a long while huh?” (Smirk)
Vivi scowled and then Dr. googled this and we all found out it was near the 1920’s… just so you all know.
Then Dr. made us go do some legitimate work, sigh.
